above the storms

Clouds can be fascinating.

To leave in a plane from a drizzly, cold and snowy climate
and then break through the clouds and see this.
Gods beauty for sure!
The pictures don't do it justice, as it was mesmerizing.

Calendar boy, here we come!

My cat Princey is one of the loves of my life. Yes, I just admitted it.

I love that fluff of fur more than I should - he gets the royal treatment but returns the love right back. I got him from Cozy Kitten cattery which breeds the most amazing cats! He is a mini persian, so is supposed to remain around 6 pounds. He likes to eat anything we do though so he might need to get his track suit on and run after some birds in the backyard!

Princey turned one in August, and is very playful and affectionate. He has a blankie he sleeps on all night, and must be cuddled whenever possible. He loves to get out in his cat stroller and go for walks, and recently I discovered he lets me play dress up with him! These are all great distractions when I no longer want to edit photos or do computer work... or clean the house! So, I'm going to share just a few pictures I took of him with different headpieces on. He stayed still while I adjusted and took the photos, so I am wondering just how dolled up I can get him.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Christmas is one of my favorite holidays.

My daughter can help decorate and there is such anticipation for Christmas day! While all the presents are fun and the giving of gifts is even MORE fun, I love having another opportunity to teach my little girl about God. His birth is a story she knows well :)

Decorating is another enjoyment/frustration (!) of the holiday. I am trying to phase out any decorations that are not vintage or shabby, and deciding where to put it all can be a challenge. But, if all problems could be this unimportant!

My sister and her new husband are also coming into town, and I just shot their wedding in Geyserville, CA. It was beautiful and they were such a gorgeous couple who were full of love for each other and all of the family surrounding them. Welcome to our family Lucky!

Sisters, now and then

Ten years ago I photographed a new friends children.
I had moved to Colorado from Vermont and got a job with a computer software company.
I was their graphic designer and it was a great job!
In fact, I had it until I gave birth to my daughter seven years later.
At that company I met a girl who is still a great friend to me today,
and now a mother of 3 children.
I recently photographed her daughters, who are 13 and 17.
It was fun to look back 10 years ago when I first shot them!
They were adorable then and beautiful now.
So fun to see the differences in them!

Hey everyone! I had the most amazing shoot in record time yesterday... 3 year old little Phoebe. She was so much fun and full of personality. And beautiful! My friend had given me some vintage hats from his mom, and so we put them to good use! There are lots more pictures so check them out at my website www.tarynsryan.com.

handmade vintage greeting cards... my new love!

I've been making birthday cards and other sorts of greeting cards from
old vintage images I find online.
I place the person who it is for onto the card somewhere, and try and add in their family or something personal if I can. It is another way for me to play around with photos and photography and I am hopefully getting better the more cards I do!

It is so fun and the recipients have been delighted to see themselves in
a piece of vintage artwork. The following cards are mainly what I have done
for family, but there is also a teacher appreciation card and a birthday card
for my best friend. These are certainly made with love!

Oh Happy day

I photographed one of the quickest weddings I have ever been to....
and it couldn't have been more personal and sweet and done with love!

It was a small, colorful occasion with family and the closest of friends.
There were bales of hay to sit on with colorful covers.
Foods that had been selected for the traveling bride and groom to remind them of exotic locales, and beautiful balls of flowers suspended in the air
between the trees on the property.

I wish the happy couple the best and am honored I got to witness their union!

magical moments with my girl

My little girl has left for her summer vacation with her dad...
for longer than she has even been gone!

Mommy is planning on staying busy with shoots, friends and family,
and hopefully some travel if I can tie down a place!
Yesterday was so fun just being together, and we ended up
in my bathroom with her playing makeup artist.
She absolutely delights in painting my face a myriad of bright colors!
